Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs Columbus Crew || Vancouver Sports Photographer

Yes it’s true this was my very first Vancouver Whitecaps game. I probably became really annoying to my photog friend Preston asking him questions between plays. Sharing the temporary home of the BC Lions, Empire Field {which I love} until the new BC Place is completed this year {which I can’t wait for}, Empire is transformed into a sea of blue and white fans. So bring out the drums, the Vancouver Southsiders, the blimps with flags, the fans some awesome chants, fireworks, and photogs with chairs. Whhhhat we can sit down? Sweet!

It was a heartbreaking emotional loss for the Caps who dominated the game, they put a lot of pressure on the Crew and just when I asked Preston what happens if the score stays 0-0 with less then a minute left to play the Crew scored. Boooooo. I think my favourite chant from the Vancouver Southsiders came every time the Crew’s keeper threw out the ball and hundreds of people rumbled…”ohhhhhhhhhhh you fat bastard.” It just made me smile every time.

I do hope to shoot more games, Preston and Richard, I promise not to ask as many questions!
