Fairy tale magic || Stylized photos || Amy Williams Photography

Welcome to a wonderful world, my favourite land of styled shoots. In this land I can let my imagination go wild work with different vendors from all over the lower mainland and have an exciting/fun shoot.

I’ve had this shoot on my mind for awhile now and even when I was planning it I didn’t foresee the photos come together this beautiful. I started talking to CC Roa of Roa Floral and Event Designs. We both love being creative and I fell in love with the bouquet she created for Little Red Snow White. {we rolled both characters into this shoot!} Not only were the white roses beautiful with hints of red just around the top of the petals but she wrapped the bouquet in a gorgeous gold and red silk ribbon.

Next what every girl wants a gorgeous dress. I, being a wedding photographer as well, browse local designer sites often. I have adored the custom and local designs of Ellebay Bridal Boutique. They seem to have pulled some of their dress designs right out of my imagination! When I was in the store I could see different shoots for so many of their dresses! They are in the New Westminster bridal district and the dresses are made right there in the store by a great mother and daughter team. I met first with mom Merly and then when I took the dress back after the shoot I was able to meet daughter Gabrielle. They are so sweet and Merly knew which dress she wanted me to use as soon as I explained the shoot. I couldn’t agree more it was perfect!

Last but not least, the cape. I needed a cape! I’ve never been to Watt’s Costumes but I had serious costume envy when I went to pick up the cape! Put it this way I can’t wait to go back for the next shoot!! It could be Halloween on other days than October 31st, pick a theme, throw a party and grab some costumes. Hmmmm I may just have to do that this summer! My last stop was to Costco to pick up the giant bag of apples, {all but one have been now consumed by myself!} Oh and Anna {Little Red Snow White} stopped at Sephora {swoon} and had her makeup done. We all agreed that she must buy some red lipstick it just looks awesome on her.

On the shoot night I had the Dowbiggin sisters helping me out. Kelly and Shannon are friends and also along that creative line that I find myself walking a lot. It was bloody brilliant to have the sisters helping me, placing props, holding gates open and of course taking care of Gerome {he was quite the diva}. Thank you to all of you for a beautiful shoot and I can’t wait till the next one!

Running to find her prince before she takes a snooze. Anna was the perfect Little Red Snow White!

This is my favourite photo!

Ummmm yes the bird is real…And I didn’t sequel with delight when I saw it at Watt’s Costumes!!

Ahhhh Gerome the gnome. My gnome that watches over my living room and is used as a snow measuring tape seemed to find himself as one of the seven dwarfs and he wandered into quite a few photos!

Of course some outtakes – Gerome getting all hot and flushed from a kiss. Kelly and Shanon making sure it looks good on the bridge, our first stop. We know Kelly is a little on the vertically challenged side but this is just crazy!! I hope you all enjoyed this session as much as I did planning and shooting it. Let me know if you have any ideas and they may just turn up as a styled shoot!!
