Miss World Canada Pageant Crowning Gala || Vancouver Event Photographer

The Miss World Canada Pageant was held at the River Rock Casino on May 19, 2011. This would determine who would represent Canada in the Miss World Pageant coming up in the fall.

The dresses were stunning, but red was definitely the colour of the night.

In the talent portion of the night, the girls who sang were amazing, Nalani Wakita, who was also a model in VFW seen here performed a contemporary dance piece that would make Mia Michaels proud, and Melissa Muirhead even impressed with a Jui-Jitsu demonstration, like Host Barry Deely, from Global TV, said I wouldn’t want to meet her in a dark alley!

Miss World Canada 2010 and her final walk, lots of clapping and of course the questions for the top 12.

And the crown goes to 23-year-old, Riza Santos from Calgary.

As the curtain closes one final wave to the crowd, Santos will continue on to the Miss World Pageant in London, England on November 6, 2011. The current Miss World is Alexandria Mills from Kentucky, USA.

The 2nd Annual Making Magic Show || Amy Williams Photography

The 2nd Annual Making Magic Show was a fantastic success, raising $35,000 for the Cures for Kids Foundation. I worked with Founder Perri Tutelman and Sarah Morgan from Sarah Morgan Events to plan the event and it was such an exciting day for us and for all the families and kids that attended the event.

A carnival inside the River Rock Casino!
Bright colours, stilt walkers and Steve the Pretty Good Magician entertained the crowd before the show.

Love seeing a line-up of people waiting to get into the show! Sarah taking tickets at the door and striking a pose in front of the sponsor wall and the delicious popcorn from Bright Ideas. Soooo good!!

The fantastical Perri Tutelman who started Cures for Kids when she was 14 years old. She is very passionate and focused on raising money to help children with life-threatening illnesses. Along with her fundraising, she can also be found in research labs helping to find a cure for Cancer. Ahhhhhhmazing.

The magic show featured: Trevor Watters and Lorena with Special Guest: Matt Baker

I don’t think I’ll ever understand magic. The kids were laughing the whole show and amazed by all the tricks by all the acts.

In the end Trevor Watters even made it snow in the theatre.
I heard people were walking out of the show already talking about next year…We better get planning!
